About
I'm Victoria. I design jewelry in Venice Beach, California, and a lot of my inspiration comes from living by the ocean.
I'm Venezuelan, and growing up, becoming a jewelry designer wasn't really part of the plan. You become a doctor or a lawyer. Something stable. And I get it. The women in my family worked hard so we'd have more opportunities than they did. But I've always wanted to make beautiful things, even when I didn't know how I'd turn that into a living.
The idea for Victoria Maddox started in Bali in 2022. I was living there, working as a production designer for a clothing brand, and meeting people and visiting workshops through my job. That's how I started making jewelry of my own. A few pieces turned into a little business that eventually came home with me to Venice.
It's still a tiny business. I'm figuring things out as I go, and some days are harder than others. But I love doing this. Seeing someone choose something I designed and make it part of their everyday life still feels pretty unreal.
My designs are sculptural, finished in 18K gold vermeil, with stones, pearls, and little reminders of the ocean. I love gold that looks like it's moving, the colors inside a shell, and pearls that aren't perfectly round. I want my pieces to feel like something you found and couldn't leave behind. Something you'll wear because it feels like you.
And to any Latina who wants something different from what her family imagined for her, I get it. You can appreciate everything they've done for you and still choose your own path. I'm still figuring mine out, but I'm glad I gave myself a chance.
Thanks for being here, wearing my jewelry, and helping me keep doing what I love.
With love,
Victoria
